For the Chaat

  • 2 tsp Kunj Chaat Masala

  • ½ tsp Kunj Guntur Chilli Powder (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder

  • Salt, if needed

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1–2 green chillies, finely chopped (optional)

  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped

  • 2 tbsp green mint-coriander chutney

  • 1 tbsp sweet tamarind chutney

  • Juice of ½–1 fresh lemon

  • 2 tbsp sev (optional)

  • Pomegranate seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Boil the Potatoes

Wash the potatoes and boil them until they are just fork-tender. Avoid overcooking, as the potatoes should hold their shape while frying. Let them cool completely, peel, and cut them into bite-sized cubes.

Step 2: Fry or Air Fry

Deep Fry (Traditional Street Style)

Heat oil to 170–180°C. Carefully add the potato cubes and fry for 5–7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and beautifully crispy. Remove them onto a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Air Fry (Healthier Option)

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C. Toss the potato cubes with 2 tablespoons of oil and air fry for 15–18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until crisp and golden.

Step 3: Assemble the Chaat

Transfer the hot crispy potatoes to a large mixing bowl.

Add:

  • Kunj Chaat Masala

  • Kunj Guntur Chilli Powder

  • Roasted cumin powder

  • Onion

  • Green chillies (if using)

  • Green mint-coriander chutney

  • Sweet tamarind chutney

  • Lemon juice

  • Fresh coriander

Gently toss everything together until the potatoes are evenly coated with the spices and chutneys.

Step 4: Garnish & Serve

Transfer to a serving plate and top with sev and pomegranate seeds, if desired. Finish with an extra sprinkle of Kunj Chaat Masala and serve immediately while the potatoes are hot and crispy.

Tips

  • Let the boiled potatoes cool completely before frying for the crispiest texture.

  • Toss the potatoes with the spices while they are still hot so the flavours stick well.

  • Add the lemon juice just before serving to keep the chaat fresh and tangy.

  • Enjoy immediately for the best crunch.
